Christmas Shopping Trip

As the Community Trust are still unable to run the weekly shopping bus due to Covid-19, the Community Council are looking into organising a trip to Milngavie town centre, for those who do not have transport (with relevant precautions, restrictions in place for everyone's safety).

To allow us to gauge interest and potential numbers, if you would like to be included in this event, please email or contact Peter on 07946 568002 (or any member of the community council).

Mill Quadrant

Many of you will be aware of the renovation work recently carried out at no.1 Mill Quadrant. As a result a significant amount of building debris has been collected outside on the front grass. As this has now been left there for several weeks, the Community Council has reported the matter to Stirling Council and requested for it to be removed.

Hopefully this will be dealt with in the near future.

Finnich Glen Planning Application

The recent planning application for the proposed development of a car park, visitor centre, cafe and restaurant at Finnich Glen was discussed at a Pre-determination Hearing today. Croftamie Community Council (CCC) was represented by our Chair, Peter Lloyd, who expressed the CCC support for the application. The proposal was later unanimously approved by the full council this afternoon.

It is anticipated that the plans will deal with the parking challenges we currently see at this site and the planned management of the site will ensure this local beauty spot is protected from further damage and destruction, caused by the current lack of access control and facilities.

The proposal, which was voted on by CCC councillors, is sympathetic to the natural environment. The plans will improve public saftely in the area as well as create opportunities for local employment and be an asset for tourism in the area.

Details of the planned development can be viewed in the link to the planning application below.
